I am located in Georgia. We are receiving medical record request/retrieval from 3rd party companies (Ciox, Inovalon). Of course, they are wanting it asap and also very demanding. Can we charge them for the medical records being they are not the insurance company? We do not have a contract with them, our contract is with the insurance company. I would like to know what some other Georgia practices are going. I know these folks are just "fishing". They are using date ranges and not specific dates of services and it is very hard to get specific dates of services from them.
