I have an interesting observation with regards to Medicare sequestration.
I understand we don’t have much say about the federal sequestration of 2% for Medicare patients. We do have a positive adjustment code 144 (1.5% MIPS incentive) which makes the sequestration a little less painful.
However i have noticed that for Humana patients we are getting the full 2% sequestration without any mention of the MIPS.
Since they are all Medicare patients and I have read that Medicare Advantage patients are not getting the 2% sequestration, isn’t it unfair that we are having the sequestration reduction without the MIPs credit?
I’m just curious if others have noticed it also and want your opinion on it.
Thanks!
