Extended drug screen labs PLEASE HELP

If anyone can help me or answer this question. We have a psychiatrist that has been ordering extended drug screen panels and she is marking it P1252 and that is not a code I know it has to be lab based not CPT based.

One I need to know what that code is used for if anyone knows and two I need to know if we are clia waived if this is a blood test we can do in house or if it has to be done in a lab setting.

Any answers are appreciated. My chief operating officer wants me to figure this out this morning so any help is welcome

Extended stay recovery coding

Can someone tell me if there is such a thing as "Extended Stay Recovery" in the hospital billing? I have been told that there is a Extended Stay Recovery for out patients in a hospital setting to keep them in the hospital for up to 24 hours. The only coding I know is out patient observation codes. This Extended Stay Recovery is supposedly used for Medicare Patients only.

Billing extended EEG read to Medicare

I am need of assistance as to how to bill extended EEG’s to Medicare. We are running into an MUE issue when billing EEG’s that are lasting more than 24 hours. I am wondering how others do this? Since Medicare guidelines state you have to bill by read date I am wondering if (depending on the length of the eeg) you would bill example 95951,26 and then 95951,26,59? or 95951,26 and 95951,26,76?

Billing for extended face to face time

Our office had a woman come in to get her blood drawn for prenatal labs and due to a extreme needle phobia our provider spent over 90 minutes with her. During this time no other consulting or medical services took place. Is there a way to bill for the time our provider took with the patient? I would greatly appreciate advice in this as it does not seem appropriate to bill an e/m code as our provider did not gather medical history nor did any counseling for a medical problem.

Remember: CMS Allows ’97 Extended HPI with ’95 E/M Guidelines
