5 Different Types of Facials Offered by Medical Spas

Fort Worth is a great city. Home of the Stockyards, Sundance Square, Billy Bob’s and several other attractions for tourists, as well as locals. Sometimes these more culturally or historically significant attractions can make us Texans forget about the simple things. As a resident of the DFW area, one of my favorite activities when I visit Fort Worth is to get a professional facial. I usually go to the same place every time. I decided to do a little research on the different types of facials available at my favorite spa.

First of all, if you have never had one, a facial is a great way to rejuvenate skin, scruff off dead skin, and boost the beautiful glow that is hiding below that top layer of skin. No matter what protectants you may use to safeguard your face from the harsh chemicals and environmental poisons present in our world, some damage is unavoidable. This is why receiving regular facials are so beneficial, as they awaken the skin, pamper it, and make it beautiful and healthy again. If you are a novice to facials, however, you mind may be spinning at all of the different types of facials you can get. This is why we drafted this overview of the most popular facials in Fort Worth, to help you figure out just where to start on your journey to healthier skin.

1. Basic Facial: The most base of facials is a good starter facial as it addresses normal skin that is not too dry or oily and isn’t overly sensitive to certain factors or ingredients. It is also the least expensive of facials, so if you are not sure whether or not you will like facials, it is your best bet. In a basic facial, you will receive a cleansing of your skin, a steam, and then a follow up massage to stimulate your pores.

2. AHA Facials: AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid and a facial of this type uses the anti-aging processes of flowers and plants-which contain scores of AHA-to rejuvenate the skin and make it look youthful and renewed. While the process of all specialized facials-such as this one-incorporates the same cleanse, steam, and massage protocol; in this instance, a special topical cream is applied that offers the benefits of AHA. The best candidates for an AHA facial are those who are worried about the signs of aging and wrinkles, may have pigmented skin, or just want skin to look healthier.

3. Anti-Oxidant Facials: The same cancer-fighting anti oxidants that are beneficial to eat-found in blueberries and the like-can help protect the skin from the same cancer-causing free radicals in the environment. In an anti-oxidant facial, different face creams built with potent scores of antioxidant vitamins are used on the face to remove pollutants, cleanse, and protect the face from future harm. The best candidates for these facials are those who spend a lot of time outdoors for work or play.

4. Acne Facials: While teenagers are most prone to acne conditions in their skin, adult acne is also very common. This said, many people regularly receive acne facials. These treatments offer thorough cleansing, an enzyme or glycolic acid exfoliation, a vapor mist, deep pore pimple extractions, and an anti-acne anti-inflammatory facial mask.

5. Collagen Facials: Another popular facial to get at a spa is a collagen facial. These facials offer treatment for those looking to prevent wrinkles, dark under eye circles, and any other damage that might be incurred through the sun and pollutants. Collagen facials have a series of pampering steps that begins with cleansing, exfoliation, a vapor mist, then one to pore cleansing, lymphatic massage, and a masque applied over the central ingredient of collagen.

Medical Spas and Day Spas – The Difference

There are so many services available to the average consumer. From specialized services that make their lives more convenient to services that pamper and heal their bodies. How is one to understand all the opportunities out there for help? One of the most common questions many people have is “what is the difference between medical spas and day spas”? Is one better than the other? What services are offered where, and how can you locate the right kind of spa for your needs? This list of questions and so many others plague the novice to the term “spas” and it is because of this confusion, that we have brought a simple overview of the main differences between medical and day spas to your attention, to help you get the services you need at the right type of location.

Personnel: The glaring difference between the two major types of spas is the personnel that facilitate the operation. While day spas offer licensed beauty technicians and associated service related personnel, med spas typically hire medical staff that are trained in a certain area of health or bodily repair-such as laser hair removal, etc. In both medical spas and day time spas, as the customer you should always be able to locate the credentials of the physicians and specialists before accepting their services.

Services: Aside from personnel differences, the services themselves, offered at med vs. day spas are very very different in nature and specifics. The types of services offered in medical spas have to do with medical procedures-or at least medically-oriented procedures-whereas the services and treatments offer in day spas are not. Popular services offered at medical spas include: laser hair removal, acne treatments, botox injections, wrinkle treatments, and chemical facial peels and treatments. Common services offered at day time spas include: massages, facials, makeup makeovers, hair coloring, and other aesthetic treatments.

Amenities: The amenities are another huge difference when it comes to med and day spas. Day spas have more of a luxurious objective to them while medical spas are more purposeful in a medical related kind of manner. This said, you may find beautiful décor, comfortable couches, and decadent amenities in a day spa to cater to customer looking to be pampered. On the other hand, while many medical spas are comfortable, they more resemble doctor’s offices than decadent spas. The difference is medical purpose vs. pampering, and this shows very obviously in the types of amenities offered in medical spas vs. day spas.

Equipment: The equipment in a medical spa will also vary quite greatly from that found in a day spa. As more intensive treatments-such as laser and chemical treatments-are administered at medical spas, consequently, the equipment they require is much more professional and complex than that of a day spa. Though there can be pricey pieces of equipment at day spas, most all of the treatments are centered around human service without the need of equipment-such as massage, manicures, makeup, hair styling, and all the other aesthetic treatments.

Skin Care and Medical Treatments Brought by Medical Spas

Our skin covers and protects everything in the body. Without the skin, our muscles, organs and bones would be hanging around. Aside from its duty to hold all the organs and muscles, the skin also serves as our protection from extreme temperature such as excessive heat and coldness. The skin regardless of its color serves as our protection from extreme temperature in the environment. Since the skin is a vital part of our body, we must take precautionary measures in taking care of it so that it stays healthy and fresh all the time.

As we take care of our skin, we can go to medical spa to get some treatments that we need in order for it to stay healthy. Medical spas provide skin care remedies and treatments to many skin problems and imperfections. A medical spa provides services that can make us relax an example of it is massage or body scrub. A day spa or medical spa also offers services like waxing, aromatherapy, salt scrubs, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, photo-facials or photo rejuvenation, Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, eyelash extensions, manicure and pedicure, foot spa and vein treatments.

The term medical spa originated from a medical clinic and day spa. A medical spa is also termed as med spa that offers surgical and non surgical treatments. Other services like warts removal, facial and many other skin problems are treated in a medical spa. Usually, a medical spa is headed by a licensed surgeon, dermatologists, aesthetic physicians and plastic surgeons. A day spa on the other hand, is somehow associated or similar to a beauty salon.

Idaho skin care offers the same services just like any other medical spa. They offer massage that is so relaxing to our body. It doesn’t only revitalize our energy but also it reduces anxiety, a good pain relief, reduces depression and temporarily reduces blood pressure. There are so many kinds of massage, and it includes the following; watsu, Thai massage, Swedish massage, stone massage, shiatsu, reflexology massage, Myomassology, Balinese massage, anma and acupressure.

In choosing a Burley skin care office, we need to make sure that the clinic has medical specialist or a licensed doctor who will perform the procedure or at least present to supervise the treatment. We must also see the price of the package if it is within our budget. We should never go to a medical spa that is not represented by a licensed doctor, dermatologists or a certified plastic surgeon.

We must also see the place if it is clean. The equipments and tools to be used must be clean, and rust free, this is very important in order to prevent infections. There are so many medical spas today that competes each other we just have to be careful in choosing the right one. Ask their receptionist about their services and how good the doctor is.

The primary purpose why there is so many medical spas today is because more and more people get stress everyday. There are so many factors that contribute to stress some of it includes work-related issues, emotional problems and even financial problems. Whatever the cause is a visit to a medical spa or a day spa is sure to relieve you from it.

Medical Treatments and Skin Care from Medical Spas

The skin has so many functions so we must take exceptional care of it all the times. Aside from the fact that it protects us from extreme temperatures, whether it is from heat or coldness, the skin regulates our body temperature all the time. The skin also covers our entire body; otherwise, our organs, muscles and other parts of our body will be exposed to bacteria and infection.

There are many ways on how to take care of our skin; we can buy many skin care products in the market that helps our skin become healthier. The presence of a medical spa is one good example. Idaho skin care offers one of the best skin care package that are available today. Aside from having a beautiful skin, there are also other services that they offer that make us relax and feel terrific.

A day spa or medical spa provides services like vein treatments, manicure and pedicure, aromatherapy, salt scrubs, eyelash extensions, foot spa, photo-facials or photo rejuvenation, Botox, waxing, dermal fillers, chemical peels, laser treatments and Microdermabrasion. The term medical spa or med spa came from the term medical clinic and day spa.

Aside from the services mentioned above, medical spas also offer both surgical and nonsurgical services and treatments. A medical spa cannot go on business or cannot operate unless they are headed by a licensed doctor, aesthetic physicians and plastic surgeons or a dermatologist. These groups of professionals are the individuals that are only allowed to do the surgical procedure. Other services can be performed by a medical spa staff alone.

Burley skin care is also offering the same services just like what medical spa has to offer. A massage has proven many help to many people. It relaxes our tired muscles and veins, it reduces depression, temporarily reduces blood pressure, a good pain relief and most of all it reduces anxiety. The type of massage that a person gets whenever they go to a medical spa depends on their preference. Some of the massage that is commonly used is Swedish massage, shiatsu, reflexology massage, watsu, Thai massage and stone massage.

If we are planning to go on a Burley skin care spa, we must take into consideration some important details such as the price, scope of service, length of treatment, and after care for the treatment that has been done. In addition, the facilities must be clean and safe for any procedure to be done. Look for a medical spa where you can talk to the dermatologists or the doctor personally.

Whatever our purpose in going to a medical spa is, we must be careful all the time in choosing the right one, go to a medical spa that is clean, has positive records and positive feedbacks from their clients. We must also ask ourselves, do we need such procedure or not and in addition, the package must always fit our budget.

What Are Medical Spas?

You may have heard of medical spas before, but what is one exactly? Why should you consider visiting your local medical spa if you have problems with your skin or even some minor health issues?

Medical spas (or Medi-Spas) are a cross between the traditional day spas with massages and facials and a medical clinic where you can get work done on your appearance instead of on your innards. Medical spas are not quite as relaxed as day spas, but they arent as invasive or tense as medical clinics. Medical spas are a great way to get more intensive work done on your appearance without the invasiveness of surgeries.

Medical spas have a wide range of services; you can pick one based on what you need and more importantly, what you want for yourself. Some of the services you can use a medical spa for include:
Botox-a treatment of small injections that tightens skin and smooth out wrinkles and lines.
Microdermibrasion-this treatment takes off the top layer of the skin and reveals the younger, smoother skin underneath. It is usually done through a process much like sanding; hence the name-micro-derma-brasion!
Chemical Peels-Chemical peels are much like microdermibrasion, but they are usually a bit more comfortable and not quite as effective. Chemical peels use a mixture of chemicals to slough off dead skin.
Laser Treatments-laser treatments can be used on skin and hair; it is usually used to get rid of unwanted hair or to zap blemishes like brown spots, acne and other problems. Its completely non-invasive and painless, though it is important to do the follow-up work as well to make sure that the treatments sticks and that you have no side effects

Of course medical spas have a wide range of more spa-like services as well; you can get massages, acupuncture and sometimes dietary consultants in an overall wellness center in order to help you make the most of the treatment you receive and make it last longer. Still other medical spas give photofacials which are facials that promote collagen and get rid of red spots and age spots. You can even get laser treatments for unsightly veins on your legs or on the rest of your body.

There are medical spas in many larger towns and cities; all you really have to do is look them up in your phone book or online. The real question is whether it is being headed by a professional doctor-you should try to get a medical spa that is-and everyone should be licensed or at least have a lot of experience; enough that you see a thorough portfolio of their work. However, the very best medical spas have a doctor on hand and entirely licensed staff; the doctor may even do some of the procedures himself! Its very important to look into the medical spa before you go because some treatments can be dangerous if not done properly.

Medical spas are a great way to both relax and take care of many skin issues you may be having. They are run by doctors and usually by licensed staff and you may even have access to a wellness center that can show you the best way to eat and how to make your treatments last even longer. Most importantly though, youll go in wanting to look a certain way and when you are finished with your sessions, you will look younger, feel better, and have a more positive outlook on your life. What more could you ask for?
