I work for a group practice where two of the MDs use a separate billing company. That company bills post op visits (99024) to Workman’s compensation carriers with a charge of $ 250.00 and are getting paid!!! Has anyone heard of this? I want to get on top of this before the other MDs catch wind and want to do the same. I do not feel its proper or even ethical, at that, if they are following the rules of CPT. The treatment after the surgery is included in the surgery code for a certain time frame. Any thoughts?

Telehealth shared/split visits?
Hi,
My supervisor is wondering if a telehealth service is rendered where the PA performs the history or present illness, review of systems, overall history and exam and the MD performs the MDM portion, who would be the billing provider in this scenario?
Would anyone happen to know if it is appropriate to bill a shared visit given that it is a telehealth service? please help.
2 New visits same day
Can you have 2 new visits on the same day? New preventive and low level new office visit? I have found documentation that states you can and others that state that the preventive would be new and the sick visit would be established. Any thoughts?

Coding e/m visits in the same day with an admission as observation then as inpatient
A physician sees a patient in his office in the morning and then again early that afternoon at which he send the patient to the hospital in observation status. Later that day he visits the patient in the hospital and admits the patient as full inpatient. Ehat E/M codes are billed for this?

Can someone please give instructions on what checkpoints are needed for preventive visits? Are they the same for regular visits (ROS, PFSH, Organ systems/Body Areas)?

Can 2 ER E/M visits for same DOS be processed on the same claim. They have 2 different rev codes-0450 and 0981 and modifier 25 added to one of the cpt code 99285-25? any feedback
Medicare Advantage Plans and PE visits
Can anyone provide any assistance with Routine Physical Exam( 99396+) billing with Medicare Advantage plans? I have always been told that Medicare doesn’t offer/reimburse for this service,yet now I have received 2 payer calls stating Medicare Adv. members have coverage for Annual Physical Exams. If so, does anyone know of the proper codes to use for the E/M?
Group Visits for weight loss
Hello,
I have a provider who wants to bill for group visits for helping people with weight loss.
1. How would a provider bill a group visit?
2. Can a physician provide a group service for obesity counseling and bill a level of care for each patient that is present?
3. If you can bill the encounter based on time, can you use the same block of time towards each patient?

Pediatric patients attend visits on their own
In our pediatric practice, parents sometimes will send their children to their appointments by themselves. Does anyone have a policy around this issue? Or recommend parameters so we can make a policy for our office?
