15 HCPCS Corrections to 2019 Code Set

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released 15 corrections to the 2019 HCPCS Level II code set, all retroactive. Of the 15 codes, five are added, one discontinued, and seven reflect changes to payment or coverage status. One modifier introduced in 2011, CMS ruefully admits, was “removed in error” and is reinstated. […]

HCPCS Professional Vs Expert editions

I was wondering what is the differences between these other than the price. I am right now purchasing books and the professional one is cheaper so it is higher on my list to get that one. As this is a book I rarely use it might be best to go that route as I just look up codes in it and don’t really need any guidelines in there which there are not many any way.

Implant (hcpcs c code)

So I work at a hospital and I have been getting a couple denials on HCPCS codes C1894, C1765 and other implant codes saying that they are being unbundled. I wasn’t sure if there is a CPT code that was can use describing the implant codes instead of coding for them separately? I have been trying to look online to see if I could find anything but haven’t had much luck.

use of HCPCS code Q0163 when it’s not chemo related?

I’m coding for urgent care and the providers often give oral Diphenhydramine HCL to handle other symptoms that are nothing to do with chemo. Web MD lists all kinds of uses for the drug, non of which are chemo related specifically, yet the only oral HCPCS code for the drug specifically states for use at the time of chemo treatment. (Q0163)

Does anyone know if I can use this code even when not related to chemo or do I have to use the J8499 – prescription drug, oral, non-chemo, NOS? (or some other HCPCS code I may be missing)
Thank you.

HCPCS code G0513 & G0514

I’m wondering if anyone is using either code with Preventative visits .Often the Medicare wellness visit is time consuming with all the elements required .
Are these codes considered Add on codes?
Do Medicare advantage plans reimburse for this service ?
I realize they are time based and perhaps used for educating, coordinating care with specialist or other agencies.Would this be used for face to face with Provider or clinical staff in general?
Thank you in advance
