Phonepayplus planning a crackdown on rogue suppliers of all phone-paid services, and is asking for an expression of public opinion
. regulator of premium rate phone-paid said he wanted to introduce new regulations that would make some significant changes in the current Code procedure(COP).
One of the most important of these consumers would be to require suppliers to premium content and services to register Phonepayplus.
Phonepayplus said the introduction of this measure is to identify and to avoid risks at key points in the supply chain, where consumers do not complaints.
Currently, only service providers that buy the premium numbers with network operators and retailers sell them for content or services (known as a provider of information) have to register. The information providers do not not.
Phonepayplus wants to register the information providers mandatory. Failure to do so in the new cop means that these companies will not be allowed to do business in the UK phone-paid market-rate premium.
Making content provider to register with us helps us buy numbered to make informed decisions about doing business with them.
This also means that we can react quickly and target companies, whether the right problems, said Representative Phonepayplus .

consultation period will end on July 8 and then applications will have to be approved Ofcom telecommunications regulator.
If they are accepted, the new CoP will be implemented in early 2011.
