Ok, so I’m being asked the following question… all my teaching has always been for a vaginal delivery, the ICD codes: O80, Z37.** (to show outcome). I’m being asked, that if the record shows the OB doc used instrumentation (forceps, etc). Does the ICD need to show that it is the O80 acceptable. I know probably more compliantanly it should probably be coded for the instrumentation. However all my pst instructions have been that for anesthesia, a vaginal delivery is still a vaginal delivery. Any in sight???
