Tomorrow is my last day at my job. Reimbursements have been cut and we have lost clients. It was a perfect storm that has come to a head. I’m sad in a way, but relieved in another. I have been coding for over ten years and am so burned out on it. I have been wanting to do something different and now is my chance. I have learned and grown so much in my time in coding.

The changes in the healthcare system are dizzying at times and now is a good time to get out. I don’t want to discourage people that really want to learn coding, but know things aren’t so rosy. You are competing for jobs not only with the graduates being pumped out from all these trade schools, but also people from other countries.

I have severance for a few months and that will give me time to figure out what I want to do. Some time to veg will be good for the mental state.
