Hospice & Memory Care

My providers see patients in skilled nursing facilities and we do not have an actual office location to see patients. We currently bill all payers for professional services for Skilled and ICF (long term care) patients. We are looking to possibly add the Hospice and Memory Care patients at our facilities and want to know if we can still be those services rendered to say Medicare? If there anything different then our regular professional billing with CPT’s 9930-99318? Any insight would be great.

The Medical Benefits Of Memory Foam Mattresses And Pillows

The struggle to get a decent night’s sleep is something many UK residents struggle with, a large number of people have either developed or aggravated a back complaint due to poor posture when sleeping which has lead to not only a difficulty to get comfortable but also spine and muscle pain in the morning after sleeping. Considering research has shown we have a much more productive day after a good night’s sleep then maybe it’s time we look at improving our beds to improve our work rate.

Memory foam or latex mattresses have been proven to help alleviate and prevent back trouble as it shapes itself to the contours of our bodies due to heat and pressure sensitive materials that adapt to the natural curve of our spine taking pressure away from common areas like our knees, hips and shoulders. With less pressure on key areas of our body people can get comfortable more easily and so gain more valuable sleep.

Because these mattresses are made of latex they are also non-allergenic so people with dust mite allergies can get a more comfortable and less disrupting sleep too. Some people though can find memory foam mattresses a bit warm as there is not much space around the body for air flow, if you find you are a warm sleeper then a memory foam mattress can make things worse.

Considering the price of memory foam mattresses you should try one out first or try purchasing a memory foam mattress topper, which is a thinner layer (typically 2 inches) of memory foam you can attach to the top of your existing mattress. If you find that in the summer months it gets too warm then you can easily remove the memory foam element to get a cooler night’s sleep as well as it not costing as much to purchase.

Memory foam pillows also exist which can help extend the spinal and muscular benefits to your head and neck also. These pillows can be quite dense and heavy but are made from the same shaping material memory foam mattresses are made from. Again they can be quite warm so you may find that if you are too warm in the summer that you might want to use regular pillows. Again memory foam latex pillows have benefits for allergy sufferers, especially since your head is closest to your pillows during sleep.

Memory foam mattresses and pillows have their benefits but since they are not everyone’s cup of tea with regards to temperature then you should try them out before spending lots of money on a mattress that will be too warm for you.
