Meniscus Injection

A provider in our office just started doing ligament and tendon injections. What I want to know is how to bill for a medial meniscus injection? I don’t feel that the 20550 or the 20610 fit the description for this. In one visit she injected the MCL, LCL, the right knee capsule and the medial meniscus.

So I was going to bill
20550
20550,59
20610,59
but I don’t know what to bill for the meniscus.

Any help would be fantastic! Thank you.

Meniscus tears

I’m having a hard time trying to figure out what type of tear I have. When looking this up it separates by lateral and medial – that part I know, but when it splits off and states bucket-handle, complex, peripheral or specified type I’m lost. Could someone please explain to me what these mean and how to determine which code to use when I’m coding a report. Right now I’m coding a lateral meniscal tear involving the anterior horn, body and posterior horn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
