We are receiving quite a few denials from Ohio Anthem BC/BS due to mutually exclusive codes BUT I’m not sure they are correct. E78.00 (pure hypercholesterolemia, unsp) and E29.1 (testicular hypofunction) is just one example. It seems since October this has been happening regularly. Just curious if other offices are seeing this too and how you are resolving the issue?

96127 / 90832 mutually exclusive?
Does anyone know if 96127 brief emotional/ behavioral assessment be coded with psychotherapy code 90832?
Mutually Exclusive 67040 and 67042
Hello,
Could someone please tell me if these two codes can be billed together with modifiers RT. I am working on a VE edit report and this is saying they are mutually exclusive by modifier RT would trump the edit.
I believe that code 67042 is the complete code, and 67040 is exclusive. does anyone really know if the RT is allowed for both of these codes to be billed at the same time ?
Thanks,
