Is doing the AAPC Practicode a good way to experience?
I work for Optum at this time and I need to get some experience to be able to post for a coding position. I am wondering if doing the
coding practicode through AAPC would be a good way to get that experience. Has anyone done this, and if so can you let
me what to expect. Thank you for your input. Sharon

Practicode- Does it make it easier for a new coder to get a job?
The Coding and Billing program I took racked up hundreds of hours with practice coding using the books and the 3M-encoder giving me a year of rigorous coding experience. Before sinking any more time and money into my coding career, I would just like to know if employers are really looking for a CPC without the A and still not having actual on the job training on their resume.
Thanks, any encouragement or information would be greatly appreciated.
Does Practicode count as an internship?
Is this correct? Can I add Practicode to my work history, or should I just post it as a test score?
I know it shows some experience, so I’m trying to figure out how to best show that to employers. Thanks!

"…if you have any questions about the answer that is showing as the correct answer, or just coding questions with the cases, to use the feedback button on the left side of the screen. Your questions are sent to our coding team that will be there to assist you…"
On July 6th, 2017 this service is retracted, without explanation or warning.
"…For coding questions please contact your coach/instructor. Practicode does not include a support service to answer coding questions or provide training."
Below is an exercise to demonstrate the quality of the Practicode exercises and why correspondence on the Codes and Coding rationales is a necessary component.
Exercise 10 16069089
(Unresolved to date. Question opened June 18th, 2017.)
Chart : "…there is no evidence for inflammation"
PractiCode Answers are :
I83.12 Varicose veins of left lower extremity with inflammation
I83.11 Varicose veins of right lower extremity with inflammation
This is the most recent response I’ve received (today) in regard to the Coding support.
"The sentence that you highlighted was rescinded and the support was reinstated as this was an error made by an individual."
I can’t say I’d recommend Practicode. I am still seeking resolution to the above issues.
