If you are a friendly sort of person who loves interacting with other people all day, then you’re also in luck. You can work as a doctor, nurse, rehab specialist, home health aide, or in many other positions as well. You will get to know your patients as individuals, come to share their medical struggles with them, and celebrate their recoveries and triumphs alongside them. The medical industry, after all, needs not only smart and talented people, but those with a good bedside manner.

Technology is also revolutionizing medicine, so if you like to be on the cutting edge of human invention, this would be a great field for you to enter. Before long, doctors will be using all kinds of computerized systems for diagnosing and treating patients: medical avatars, 3-D imaging programs, non-invasive explorations of a patient’s body, treatments at the genetic and molecular levels, and handheld lasers among them. Who knows what the next fifty years could bring? The day could come when a person’s disease can be zapped away in just a few minutes.
