We have a provider who is questioning if a visit with a patient’s caregiver without him/her being present is payable. The patient is severely developmentally disabled. I understand that this was not billable nor could we bill the family member, however if I am not mistaking as of this year there is a new code G0505 we can bill but it seems that it only applies to patients suffering from Alzheimers. Does anyone have any more information on this?

We are in FQHC facility in Northern California.
