I am currently looking for a remote position as a medical coder/biller. I have over 6 years of experience of coding and billing for same day surgeries performed in Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Facility (procedures related to Ortho, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Pain Management) as well as various professional services that were performed in clinics and include Evaluation and Management, Anesthesia, Chiropractic and Physical Therapy. In addition, I worked as a supervisor of the coding/billing/collections department for the last three and a half years and have extensive knowledge with appeals process and with overturning denials from the insurance companies. My last job lasted for over 6 years where I started as an appeals specialist writing letters to insurance companies and reviewing EOBs/EORs to make sure that providers get paid properly, in 1 year I got promoted to handle billing and coding for services rendered in Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Facility (ASTF) as well as to handle follow ups with insurance companies for the payment status of surgeries and in less than 2 years I got promoted again to become a supervisor of the company’s Coding/Billing/Collection department that handled billing, coding and collections for the ASTF as well as 5 clinics. I have experience working remotely, since 2 out of 5 work days I used to work from home. I am passionate about coding world and really enjoy my profession. I currently have 3 certifications with AAPC: CPC (certified professional coder), CPB (certified professional biller) and COC, known as CPC-H (certified outpatient coding or certified professional coder-Hospital) and am currently working on getting my CIC.
