I have a patient that had diabetes that caused Neuropathy. The patient went through a weight loss surgery and their A1C is now only slightly elevated, not in the Diabetic range and on no meds, but the patient still has the neuropathy. Im trying figure out how to code this, coding neither G62.9 or G63 seems appropriate to me, and Im not seeing guidelines for coding Diabetes(E11.40) in such a case. What are your thoughts on a case like this?
