If you are a new medical assistant and ready to start working so I must advise you my friend to kick start your job hunt – and get your first medical assistant job position with these wonderful tips!!

a) Work hard in your Internship!

Excelling as an intern can significantly improve your chances of finding a job after graduation as a medical assistant. Many students are hired at their internship places just by showing they have a excellent attitude, are eager to learn and get along well with the existing staff.

So be ready to work hard at your interns!

Also note that internship classmates will become your best references when you apply for jobs on other places.

b) Chat With Career Counselors!

In addition to checking for classified ads for positions, talk to career counselors at the school where you completed your medical assisting program. Networking with established medical assistants at monthly meetings of your local AAMA chapter is another fine way to learn about opportunities!

c) Present Yourself Properly

1) Keep your resume and cover letter straight forward and to the point, and be sure to spell-check both of them.

2) Address your letter to the proper person at the hiring organization, usually the office manager or practice manager of that organization.

3) Be slightly early for interviews.

4) Listen carefully to questions.

5) Switch off your cell phone.

6) Dress properly.

d) Make your qualifications clear to interviewer!

Since there is a wide range of educational paths to becoming a medical assistant so the hiring personals will be unclear about what your degree encompasses or what you’re trained for. Make those facts clear on your resume and in the interview.

e) Broaden Your Education

Medical professionals sometimes advise graduates who are having trouble finding jobs as medical assistant to take a few additional courses such as medical coding to become more marketable to physicians. Keep in mind that graduates may have to endeavor to a new location to find their first job!

Finally!

f) Someone will Of-course Give You a Chance

Be deficient in experience won’t necessarily trouble new grads, you should be honest.

Tell a potential employer, ‘Yes, I am fresh out of school, but I’m willing to learn.’

A lot of employers out there will give a fresh grad a start. After all, someone gave them a chance!!

So keep your fingers crossed and make a plan for your new interview on above tips, I am sure they are going to help you a lot to find your first medical assistant job!
