I am looking for help regarding when it is appropriate to code a Limited OB Ultrasound (76815) with a Bio Physical Profile (76819). I am code for the Professional Component (mod. 26). I am being told to code both when the doctor mentions 1)placenta position and grade and 2) fetal morphology I am not really sure I agree with this.

Some information I have found states that "Although not part of the BPP, surveying the placental position and grade and the fetal morphology is common practice during observation of fetal activity"

Some of my reports may list this AND a cervical length measurement. Then it kind of gets in a grey area to me.

I am wondering if there is somewhere I can look to find anything with more specific guidelines as when it is appropriate or not appropriate to also code the 76815 Limited OB Ultrasound with the 76819 BPP
