My doctor and I are in a disagreement I am hoping someone can help me out. I was always taught that even if the patient comes in with a new ailment, if they spend part of the visit reviewing the post op body part I am to charge a post op.
He thinks that if he spends half of it talking about the post op body part and half of it talking about the new ailment I should charge an office visit with modifier 24.
Which would be correct?
