The adult son invites his mother to participate in his sessions. However, from the providers notes, the mother interjects only at the prompt of the provider or not at all during the session. Is this still considered family psychotherapy because she was present in the session?
Thanks for any input in advance,
Amanda
A previous charging assistant at Preferred Family Health has been captured on doubt of Medicaid extortion. Vicki Chisam, 65, of Batesville is blamed for purposely putting forth false expressions to the Arkansas Medicaid Program from January 2015 to Nov. 9, 2015 in the interest of the facility. The excessive charges, as indicated by Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, totaled about $ 589,000.

If there are siblings that are both patients to the provider. They are both seen the same day and at the same time, same provider, same session. Could 90846/90847 be billed for each sibling? As long as there is separate documentation for each sibling?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, happy Friday
I have heard that according to medicare guidelines family history should be considered only to first degree relatives. Is it right and if it is right do anyone have any reference mail or link for this.
