laparoscopic robotic uterosacral ligament fixation involving suspending the vaginal apex from shortened, plicated uterosacral ligaments in a manner analogous to the vaginal uterosacral ligament fixation.
Everything that I am finding points to using the unspecified procedure 58999. The closest CPT I find is 57283 (colpopexy vaginal, intraperitoneal).
I have a urogyencology office which is looking to utilize this procedure a lot and I need to find the best way to code this. I have never had to bill out an unspecified procedure before and I need guidance of how this is to be done.
Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated.

:confused: Effective 2018 CMS is removing 55866 from the IPO list. Can 55866 be done Inpatient and Outpatient or just Outpatient now?
Robotic assisted excision of anterior symphysis pubis chondromas
My doctor was doing a robotic laparoscopic prostatectomy and came across these chondromas and decided he need to remove these before he could continue with the prostatectomy.
I then went to the anterior abdominal wall and brought down the medial umbilical ligaments and the urachus and dissected down to the endopelvic fascia. There were significant what appeared to be chondromas growing off of the symphysis pubis. They were mobile. I did take small samples and sent this for a frozen to verify that it was not prostate cancer as it was not terribly fixed, but somewhat soft and firm and adherent to they symphysis area.
Any idea of what CPT code I would use for this, or would this be included in prostatectomy?
Robotic Simple Prostatectomy
My question is regarding a Robotic SIMPLE Prostatectomy. There is only one robotic CPT code for a prostatectomy in the CPT book and that code reads:
55866- Laparoscopy, surgical prostatectomy, retropubic radical, including nerve sparing, includes robotic assistance when preformed.
Since a simple prostatectomy does not include everything listed in the description of CPT code 55866, I have been adding a 52 modifier for reduced services. Is this correct or should I be billing something different? My docs are worried we are missing out on money by adding a 52 modifier.
Any input will be greatly appreciated!
Laparoscopic Robotic assisted prostatectomy
I have been billing this with unlisted 55899 benchmarked like 55821. My Doctor thinks this should pay more than it is. Is anyone else doing this? Should I be benchmarking to a different code?
