Discount Walt Disneyworld Tickets
I had no desire to purchase anything but the Basic "Magic Your Way" one-day-one-park ticket. I don’t have a lot of money to spend and thought that "park hopping" was stupid extravagant. But this research has changed my mind.
If you have the Basic ticket, you can only do one park per day. What if you have your heart set on Magic Kingdom but it got so crowded it became unbearable? You know it happens, especially on the weekends! What are you going to do? Go back to the hotel and play in the pool?? You only have so many days, you want to maximize your time.
If you have the Park Hopper Option, you get unlimited entry to all 4 theme parks. You can salvage the day by heading over to Animal Kingdom and experiencing the new Pandora ride or going to Epcot and enjoying the World Showcase.
BUT, let’s do a scenario–if you buy a 5-day Park Hopper Plus Option ticket (it has to say PLUS on it), you get 5 days unlimited entry to any of the parks. BUT THE BIGGEST SHOCK was with the Park Hopper Plus Option 5-day ticket, you also get 5 EXTRA admissions to your choice of 2 water parks, 2 mini golfs, big person’s golf or ESPN. So, basically 10 day’s worth of stuff to do (if you stretch it out) for the price of 5! This also works with 2-day tickets (2 extra admissions), 3-day tickets (3 extra admissions), etc. all the way up to 10 days (which pencils out to $ 25.50 per activity).
So if all the theme parks are too crowded for you, or you need some "down" time but still want something to do, you can enjoy a water park and/or a round of miniature golf!
PROS: These tickets are good until December 31, 2018. The convention tickets MUST BE USED WITHIN 7 days of the last day of the convention (or April 18, 2018).
CONS: These are "Will Call" tickets. You don’t get them in the mail. You don’t get them ahead of time. You walk up to the Customer Service booth at WDW and trade your printout for the tickets. This means that you won’t be able to attach them to your "My Disney Experience" until you get there. And, you won’t be able to choose your FastPasses until you physically go to the booth and get your tickets. THIS IS HUGE!! FAST PASSES ARE HUGE!! You will be able to choose them at the Customer Service booth or use the app on your phone. My suggestion: Have a list of rides you want FASTPASSES for so you’ll be ready to load them up ASAP!! 😎
