B12 injections give at Chemo infusions.
Hi,
I was told a while back that we could not bill 96372 along with Infusions or Push. That we could bill just the B12 without the injection code. Is this still true? I keep getting mixed information and want to get it straight.
Thank you !!

E/M billing for hospital-based chemo administration
I am trying to determine how to bill only the oncologist’s E/M done prior to the chemo administration that is performed in the hospital outpatient setting. The oncologist is the admitting physician; the pt goes home after the infusion. I’m not sure if I am supposed to bill a "normal" 99218-99220 for the initial E/M prior to the very first infusion, then bill 99224-99226 for subsequent visits. The physician is marking 99214 for each of the visits at the hospital but I am not convinced this is correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
chemo cheat sheet
Does anyone have a chemo cheatsheet? I have a question about concurrent treatment. total time(2.25 hours)
Mag sulfate – 2 gm (non-chemo) 96368
Potassium chloride – 20 meq (non-chem) 96368
Cisplatin – 70 mg (chemo) 96413,96415
My coworker wouldn’t or couldn’t explain why these codes would be correct. So I am lost.
Thank you for any assistance.
Chemo & Home Health Care
I code for a home health care agency & the case managers & I are stumped on how to code for our care for chemotherapy patients. We understand that Z51.11 is not for home health care, but is to be used by those actually administering chemotherapy. But, we do a lot of follow-up care – taking vitals, therapy & monitoring late effects. What code can we use?
Thank you,
