Billing administration fee for non-covered immunization
We have a patient who requested an immunization that is not covered by his insurance. We are billing the patient for the vaccine itself but can we still bill his insurance for the immunization administration since they do not cover the vaccine?

Medicare Administration Code
A Medicare patient was given a Hepatitis A&B vaccine shot which would be code as 90636 but what would be the Administration code for this? I see the Adminstration code G0010 for the Hep B but no listing for the Hep A. Does this G code cover both A & B?

BCBS denying mod 59 on vaccine administration code 90471
Recently, we have gotten several denials from various BCBS plans for modifier 59 on vaccine administration code 90471. The remark code says "procedure modifier was invalid on date of service". One patient called BCBS and was told modifier 59 is invalid on this service. Is this a glitch within BCBs or has something changed with modifier 59 guidelines? I’ve searched online and can’t find any changes where I should not be allowed to use modifier 59 on the administration codes. Example of charges:
99215 mod 25
90670-for pneumonia vaccine medicine
90471 mod 59 for vaccine admin code
Administration Code Needed cor J0490 Benlysta
I work at a Rheumatology Practice in Kansas. When billing Medicare for J0490 Benlysta IV Infusion would we bill 96413 or 96365? Thanks

Would someone please help me with the 90471 vaccine administration and the-59 modifier question?
I am applying-59 modifier to the 90471 vaccine when the vaccine was given. However, I heard that since November 2017 this modifier should not be applied to the 90471 administration code. Is that correct? I tried to research but what I found is that only BCBS has that policy for not appling -59 to 90471 vaccine administration code. Can you please provide the guidance website or article if that is possible?

I have a doubt about use of immunization administration code 90472.If a 12year old boy received 3 vaccination and counselling also provided in the same session.how can we code this?
90460 for initial vaccine, then can we use 90472 for each additional vaccine?
in CPT Bookthere is an instrustional note 90472 can be use in conjuction with 90460.
Can you explain how to use these codes?
