I work in an outpatient medical and mental health clinic with 2 locations. My location is mainly admin staff and social workers. We do have an ANP and an RN at this location, but the ANP is moving his office to our other location. The problem is that the nurse wants to remain here and continue to perform med injections and lab draws. Is this allowed? I don’t see how we can bill for these services with no supervising provider present. This is a totally new experience for me so I am totally confused about this. Most of our patients are Medicaid and Medicare, but we do see some other insurances as well.

Billing / supervising provider when MD is out of office
there is an office that has a provider out for three weeks. the nurse has been giving flu vaccines, injections and CLIA waived protimes, they have a PA and NP coming in the office to cover two days of the week. on the days there is not a provider who should the billing and supervising provider be (if we can even submit that)? The days that either the PA or NP are there, can the supervising provider be a provider that does not work at that office (the clinics are part of the hospital)
I cannot find anything real clear on this.
I appreciate your help.

NPs and Supervising Physicians – Virginia
We have two insurance carriers that do not allow us to bill under the Nurse Practitioner’s NPI (Anthem and United – although, they are credentialed with United). What are the requirements/definition for the "supervising physician"? Do they have to be onsite in order to be considered the "supervising physician"? Do they have to sign off on these charts? If the physician has to sign off on the NPs’ charts, do they have to be present in the office during the visit?
Please advise! Thanks!
ordering or supervising Dr to sign off??
When the patient is coming in to get an injection for example, should the ordering Dr sign off on it or the Dr that is in the building (incident to) at the time? Are there documented guidelines on this?
Thank you for any guidance you may provide!
