New patient immunization or lab draw
Our clinic sometimes sees new patients who only want a flu shot or and STD check. They only see the nurse. I know we can’t bill any E/M codes for these situations, but can we bill these at all since they weren’t seen by the provider? I’m a little confused about how incident-to billing works in this situation.
UC visit for Immunization only
I have a patient that went to the UC, saw the NP, and they only wanted to be seen for a Flu Shot. What would be the appropriate E/M to bill with the 90686 code that the provider billed for? Thanks!

I have a doubt about use of immunization administration code 90472.If a 12year old boy received 3 vaccination and counselling also provided in the same session.how can we code this?
90460 for initial vaccine, then can we use 90472 for each additional vaccine?
in CPT Bookthere is an instrustional note 90472 can be use in conjuction with 90460.
Can you explain how to use these codes?

Nurse visit for an Immunization
Hello..
I have a nurse visit where an immunization was the only thing done. There were no vitals documented, only the documentation of the immunization. How would you code this? I used 90471 plus the vaccine administered. However, a person in my billing department wants me to put E/M of 99211. Would that be appropriate? Thanks 😎

Urgent care – Trying to bill for the administration code for the immunization – insurance pays for the drug but wont pay for the immunization? How can I avoid this in the future and get both paid for new patients and established patients. What am I doing wrong?
Immunization with TWO E/M codes
Hi! looking for a little guidance. What if a patient is coming in to have A flu shot, urinalysis, annual exam, and a problem is found on exam that causes further follow up? The 99212(3) would have a separate dx code based on the issue.

This was attempted with a 25 mod on both E/M codes, due to the immunization and using them together, but the 99213 was denied due to benefit being included in another service. how are we able to bill all of those together?

Immunization administration codes with E&M-out patient
I’m hoping someone can clear up a conundrum for me. I have been told by our Billing department that the use of admin codes for vaccines are not to be submitted when done with an E&M .
As I understand the CPT codes 90460 for age 18 and under and 90461 for components and 90471 and 90472 for components for pt 19 and up are used when the patient/care giver is counseled regarding Immunization(including G0008/G0009 for medicare) Adding Modifier 25 on the EM is required.
Looking back at claims submitted for this year I’m finding that these codes have been removed, except for VFC When I questioned the billing dept I was advised that those codes can not be submitted with an E&M ,that 3rd party payers reject them. I find this hard to believe as even with VFC and use of SL modifier Medicaid covers the adm/counseling fee
I’m hoping someone might be able to shed more light at this point I feel we are missing revenue
