Infusion 25 mins in Clinic- rest with Ambulance transport – billable?

Thoughts?
Patient seen in clinic with saline infusion started. Time of 25 mins of infusion provided – with continuation of this during ambulance ride to hospital.
Billable on the clinic side? Thanks!!

Nursing documentation :
A #20 gauge catheter was started in his left forearm. There was a good blood return. 250 cc’s of 0.9 Normal Saline was then started per pump and infused over 1 hours. The patient tolerated the treatment well. Start time 1315. Stop time 1340.

The pt was transported to hospital as a direct admit via ambulance. The EMTs took the IV bag of 0.9 Normal Saline with the pt to finish giving it to him in the ambulance.

Non Face to Face transport 2+ years old

Hello everyone,

Can you anyone help to see what CPT code should be used for non face to face transport but for children 2 years and older?
Our providers call for the ambulance once they get confirmation from the receiving hospital that they will accept the patient.
Once the ambulance leaves from the local facility, our providers do not keep in touch with the ambulance because the patients are critically ill, but in stable condition.
Should we be reporting any non face to face transport codes?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Fire Engine non transport billing codes to Auto Insurance

I am receiving requests to bill for Fire Department /Fire Engine services. Firehouses in our area are looking for revenue. It has been difficult researching the non-transport coding as everything is tied to the ambulance. This is when the Fire Engine is the first responder on the scene. Does anyone have experience in billing Auto Insurance for a Fire Engine non-transport service? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Coding Critical Care Patient Transport

We are needing help on coding for an unusual situation. Our Pediatrician had a critical patient that the ambulance service would not transport to the hospital so he took the patient himself.

We did find a code we thought was appropriate but the age was for 24 month old or younger and this patient is 10 years old. The provider would like to be reimbursed for mileage, hotel stay and also he consulted with the receiving physician during the transport. We also found a HCPCS code for non-emergent transportation but it was emergent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sharon

Ambulance Broke Down During Transport

Hi Guys,
We are working in Ambulatory Transportation coding. I have came across a report in which the ambulance which was taking patient to hospital from scene broke down during transport to hospital when patient was on board, from where another ambulance picked up the patient and took him to hospital.
Which origin and destination modifiers should be assigned to ambulance report in which ambulance got broke down?
