I have a 2 year degree, CCA certification, and CPC-A certification. I’m located just north of the twin cities metro area (MN). I’ve applied for every coding position I come across. I don’t even get a call back for a telephone interview. Many times I get an e-mailed response stating that they require 2 years of healthcare office experience. I’ve been applying and networking and giving it my all – but I’m feeling defeated. I’ve looked into the Project Xtern opportunities, however, none of them are in my metro area. I’m not sure where to go from here. Any feedback / suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you~

CPC Exam Status – Your Experience
I took my exam on Saturday, 11/10/18. It was in transit from Sunday night until Tuesday evening, where it then switched to "received" status. A few people here have said they got their results the day after it was received, and some said it stayed in "received" status for days on end. What was your experience? I am trying to stay positive over here while waiting! Thanks, y’all 😀

Looking for remote position-7 years Pathology experience
Thank you.
CPC with 5 years billing experience also. Looking for REMOTE work. Hours negotiable!
I am a highly motivated, hard-working individual seeking to continue my love of working in the medical field.
On my attached resume, please note that I am quite familiar with computers, and am able to adapt to new software quickly.
I have held my CPC since 2015 and have done office billing since 2013. I moved to a different town a year ago and miss my job so I am hoping to find remote work.
I have worked in general practices, as well as done billing and coding for colon & rectal surgery, on-call ED, inpatient, outpatient and ASC surgeries. I am skilled at A/R work, appeals, verifying E&B, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
I have worked for clinics that were contracted with multiple insurances and I have had the unique experience of working with a clinic contracted with no insurance companies.
I am more than willing to adjust my schedule to allow our time zones differences to have no issue with my work.
I feel as if I could be a major asset to your team!
** I would be happy to email my full resume with references if you are interested in learning more. [email protected]. Thank you! **
Career paths that can use coding experience but NOT coder/auditor/billing/compliance?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a career path where coding could be useful but is NOT a coder/auditor/billing/compliance?
I’m thinking along the lines of educator, medical writing, consulting……
Thanks!
Is doing the AAPC Practicode a good way to experience?
I work for Optum at this time and I need to get some experience to be able to post for a coding position. I am wondering if doing the
coding practicode through AAPC would be a good way to get that experience. Has anyone done this, and if so can you let
me what to expect. Thank you for your input. Sharon
