I am getting Medicare denials for the use of AS when filing claims for a NP that first assists for a Neurosurgeon. Denials state inaccurate or need for different Modifier. I researched and found some info to use AS and 80. This combination also got denied. I have gotten info from other billers that they have no problem getting paid with the use of only AS. Another stated she had to use AS and 81. Any comments from other coders on this?

Billing for injections given to home health nurse
My clinic has a patient who is on home health and hasn’t been seen in our office in some time. WE provided two Rocephin injections to the home health agency nurse to be given at home. Do we bill that to the home health facility so we are reimbursed by them or bill to insurance ?
99211 nurse visits
Get this from my manager nurses can charge 99211 for a nurse visit. They have been shown how to chart it so its just a nurse visit. If they are giving the injection then they charge the injection code and the medication. Please advise!! Ive never been paid for nurse visits in other practices where Ive worked. Thanks
nurse visits???
I work at an Urgent Care in a town that has a shortage of medical providers. Often people will call their PCP and they can’t get in to see them for weeks and new patient appointments are an average of 3 months out. As a result we often get patients who come and check in and then once they are roomed they will tell the MA that they want to be seen for a chronic condition or something that is out of our range of care. We end up spending the time to call their clinic and intercede to try to get them in to see their PCP and then we check them out and don’t bill for anything. This happens a lot and I am wondering if anyone has any opinions/suggestions as to whether we could bill a nurses visit for this or if I should just let it go?
Can a nurse practitioner perform 20610?
Can anyone confirm or deny that an APRN can perform a 20610? We’re getting denied for scope of practice.
E/M 99211 During nurse visit
When we do a wellchild visit but the child return the following week for their immunizations (nurse visit only) can I code a 99211 for our nurses visit as well as the other CPTs that show the immunizations were given? Same question for a patient who just comes in for a nurse visit and gets their injection, Can I bill a 99211?
Coding a Nurse Visit…
We are a RHC and trying to figure out how to code our lab visits. Let me explain. We have a contract with our local hospital lab co. We draw the labs in our office and their carrier comes and picks them up. I cant charge a Venipuncture code because the lab supplies are provided by the hospital and I cant charge a 99000 because we dont employee the lab carrier company that picks up the specimen. So how do I compensate for the time our nurses use to draw and prepare the labs? Keep in mind we only bill the self pay patients from our office. All insurance labs are drawn in our office and the insurance info is sent with the order and specimen to the hospital and then they bill. Can I charge the insurance some time of fee? Im very confused…

Precipitous nurse delivery
How would you code a vaginal delivery where the nurse delivered the baby, the OB was on her way. She did deliver the placenta. I could not find documentation on how to code precipitous labor. Thank you in advance.
